The area of Construction & Real Estate has seen a particularly strong upward trend, while the Beverages business area has enjoyed profitable sales growth both domestically and internationally. The sale of Hotel Fürstenhof in Leipzig marks the conclusion of the Hotel business sector’s portfolio adjustment, which began in 2011. Meanwhile, the Seafood business area is preparing for the future by investing in its facilities and its process plant.
Previously a member of the foundation board, Mr. Nusmeier will become Chairman of the Executive Board as of July 1, 2019. He will be taking over from Dr. Klaus N. Naeve, who has led the Munich-based corporate group for a decade and now plans to retire. Mr. Nusmeier will then lead the family-owned business together with Dr. Hermann Brandstetter as a Member of the Executive Board and Alexandra Schörghuber as a Member of the Executive Board without portfolio.
Construction & Real Estate is investing in inventory and using significant real estate acquisitions to fill the pipeline for the future. In the Beverages area, strong exports are offsetting minor sales losses in the steadily declining domestic market. The Hotel sector continues to enjoy positive growth, partly due to the recent addition of the Westin Hamburg. An excellent result has been achieved in the Seafood sector, supported in large part by the measures introduced in 2016 to improve quality and cut costs.
Once again, the Construction & Real Estate business division was the growth driver of the Munich-based family-owned business. The Beverages business division reported muted growth on the German market, but achieved a new sales record on its international markets. The upward trend in the Hotels business division remained stable. And: In the wake of years of very high losses in the Seafood business division, a significant improvement in operating figures heralds a reversal in this trend.
In 2015, the Construction & Real Estate and Beverages business sectors were once again the driver of the overall success of the Munich-based group. The positive trend in the Hotel sector continued, while the Seafood sector reported significant losses.
The Munich-based family-owned business and its approx. 6,500 employees celebrate the Group’s anniversary year with a positive 2014 balance sheet.
With consistent results in the business areas of Construction & Real Estate and Beverages and significant improvements in the Seafood sector, the Schörghuber Corporate Group is clearly on the same growth path as in previous years.
The foundation board has appointed Christoph Michl, deputy member of the executive board of Josef Schörghuber Stiftung, the holding company of the corporate group, as full member of the executive board, effective immediately.
Investments in the Hotels and Seafood business sectors have allowed the Munich-based family-owned business to consolidate its sustainable growth.
Conjointly, the executive board has appointed the managing director of Schörghuber Corporate Finance GmbH and director share management of Schörghuber Stiftung & Co. Holding KG as deputy member of the executive board of Josef Schörghuber Stiftung, the holding company of the corporate group.
The family-owned Munich company invests in all its business sectors, achieves a distinct increase in profits – as it did last year – and, in its 59th year of existence, is publishing an annual report for the first time.
The salmon farming and processing activities in Chile bundled under the roof of Productos del Mar Ventisqueros S.A. were transferred from the Schörghuber family’s private business realm – which includes Bavaria Parkgaragen and the Alpenbahnen Spitzingsee, Brauneck Bergbahn and Wallbergbahn cable cars in Upper Bavaria – to the Schörghuber Corporate Group, effective 1 July 2011.
At the presentation of its consolidated balance sheet, the family-owned company, which is headquartered in Munich, was able to look back on one of the most successful years in its more recent history.
The Schörghuber Corporate Group will in the future be focussing on its own hotel properties, it is increasing the level of collaboration with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and has appointed a new chief executive of the Arabella Hospitality Group.
After eight years at the Schörghuber Corporate Group, Hans-Peter Hoh, member of the executive board of Schörghuber Stiftung & Co. Holding KG and CEO of Brau Holding International GmbH & Co. KGaA, has resigned from the company at his own request as from 31 March 2009 in order to pursue other career opportunities. The contract of service has been annulled by mutual agreement.
