Haus der Kunst

Haus der kunst

Since 1992, the Schörghuber Corporate Group has been the largest private sponsor of the Haus der Kunst (house of art) in Munich. At the beginning of the 1990s, the famous Munich exhibition establishment found itself in a financial crisis. In collaboration with the then minister of cultural affairs, Hans Zehetmair, Josef Schörghuber undertook to put the exhibition hall back on a firm footing. Since then, the Schörghuber Corporate Group has been involved, both personally – following the company founder’s death – through Stefan and now Alexandra Schörghuber, and financially through the Haus der Kunst Foundation. The Group considers itself a traditional patron, furthering art for art’s sake. At the end of 2009, the contract between the Schörghuber Corporate Group and the Haus der Kunst was extended for a further five years up until 2014. The Schörghuber Corporate Group has thereby furnished the famous exhibition house with the security it needs to plan for the years ahead.
