Josef Schörghuber Foundation for Munich Children text

The Josef Schörghuber Foundation for Munich Children is part of the Schörghuber Corporate Group’s philanthropic initiatives. It was founded on July 26, 1995, on the initiative of Josef Schörghuber, who provided three million deutsche marks as its founding capital. In doing this, the businessman was giving expression to his affinity for Munich and its children. The foundation is administrated by the social welfare department (Sozialreferat) of the Bavarian state capital, Munich, and focuses primarily on the individual sponsorship of children and families in need. Funds are issued via the social welfare department’s foundation administration. Around 1.9 million euros of donations and interest earnings have been used since 1995 for the benefit of 60,000 children.
